Why Test Drive a Microlino?
The Microlino is unlike any car you have ever driven. Its entire front panel is the door. It seats two. It weighs 513 kg. And yet it is completely legal on Swiss cantonal roads (90 km/h limit with the L7e version) and can travel up to 228 km on a single charge. Reading about it is one thing — sitting inside one is another.
Here is what you will experience on our test drive:
- The door mechanism: The front opens like a fridge — you step in from the front. It sounds strange; it feels brilliant in tight parking garages.
- Urban manoeuvrability: With a turning radius of just 4.7 m, the Microlino is among the most agile vehicles on Swiss streets.
- Electric punch: Instant torque from a standing start — smooth, quiet, and surprisingly responsive in urban traffic.
- Boot space: A 230-litre boot — enough for a weekly shop or two carry-on bags.
- Sound (or the lack of it): The cabin is genuinely quiet. An unexpected pleasure on long urban runs.
What to Expect From Our Test Drive Session
Our test drive sessions in Vaud are structured, relaxed, and informative. As an official Microlino test host, we know the vehicle inside out and can answer your real questions — not just marketing talking points.
- Introduction (5 min): Quick overview of the model you are testing, battery option, and any features relevant to your use case.
- Seat & adjust (5 min): Set the steering column, get comfortable. There are no mirrors to adjust — just one central rear-view mirror and two wing mirrors.
- Drive (20 min): You drive. We sit alongside. Mix of urban streets and an open road stretch depending on conditions.
- Q&A (10 min): Pricing, ordering process, delivery timelines, used market options — ask anything.
