Why Test Drive a Microlino?
The Microlino is unlike any car you have ever driven. Its entire front panel is the door. It seats two. It weighs 513 kg. And yet it is completely legal on Swiss cantonal roads (90 km/h limit with the L7e version) and can travel up to 228 km on a single charge. Reading about it is one thing — sitting inside one is another.
Here is what you will experience on our test drive:
- The door mechanism: The front opens like a fridge — you step in from the front. It sounds strange; it feels brilliant in tight parking garages.
- Urban manoeuvrability: With a turning radius of just 4.7 m, the Microlino is among the most agile vehicles on Swiss streets — perfect for Lausanne, Vevey, Montreux, Renens, Crissier, Bussigny and the dense urban grids of the Lake Geneva region.
- Electric punch: Instant torque from a standing start — smooth, quiet, and surprisingly responsive in urban traffic.
- Boot space: A 230-litre boot — enough for a weekly shop or two carry-on bags.
- Sound (or the lack of it): The cabin is genuinely quiet. An unexpected pleasure on long urban runs.
What to Expect From Our Test Drive Session
Our test drive sessions in Vaud are structured, relaxed, and informative. As an official Microlino test host, we know the vehicle inside out and can answer your real questions — not just marketing talking points.
- Introduction (5 min): Quick overview of the model you are testing, battery option, and any features relevant to your use case.
- Seat & adjust (5 min): Set the steering column, get comfortable. There are no mirrors to adjust — just one central rear-view mirror and two wing mirrors.
- Drive (20 min): You drive. We sit alongside. Mix of urban streets and an open road stretch depending on conditions.
- Q&A (10 min): Pricing, ordering process, delivery timelines, used market options — ask anything.
Microlino Test Drive Near You — Cities We Cover
We welcome visitors from across the Canton of Vaud, the Canton of Fribourg, and the greater Lake Geneva region. Below is a city-by-city guide to help you plan your visit.
Microlino Test Drive in Lausanne
Lausanne is our primary operating area. Whether you live in the city centre, Ouchy, Chailly, or in one of the surrounding communes, the meeting point is easily reachable from all parts of the greater Lausanne area. In a city where parking is scarce and traffic is dense, the Microlino makes an immediate impression — it slots into gaps that no conventional car can use, and its 4.7 m turning radius makes the Lausanne street grid feel effortless. Book your Microlino test drive in Lausanne directly via our online calendar.
Microlino Test Drive in Vevey
From Vevey, the drive to our test site takes around 30–35 minutes via the A9. Visitors from Vevey frequently comment on how well the Microlino suits lakeside parking — it fits in spaces that would defeat any other car. The Grande Batterie version (228 km WLTP) handles the Vevey–Lausanne–Nyon corridor with ease. Book your Microlino test drive slot from Vevey.
Microlino Test Drive in Montreux
From Montreux, allow 35–40 minutes to reach our meeting point. The Microlino is particularly well suited to Montreux’s narrow lakefront streets and hilly access roads where larger vehicles struggle. Several Microlino owners in the Montreux–Vevey area use it as their daily driver for the station-to-office commute. Book your Montreux test drive slot.
Microlino Test Drive in Nyon
Nyon is around 30 minutes from our site via the A1. We regularly host visitors from Nyon who are considering the Microlino for commuting towards Geneva or Lausanne. The Grande Batterie model (228 km WLTP) covers the Nyon–Geneva return journey several times on a single charge. If you are based in Nyon and exploring an EV for daily use, the Microlino test drive is worth the short drive east.
Microlino Test Drive in Morges
Morges is 15–20 minutes from our test site — one of the closest towns outside the Lausanne urban core. The Microlino is a natural fit for Morges: its compact town centre, busy market days, and lakeside parking all reward a vehicle this size. Visitors from Morges often cite the town’s congested car parks as the deciding factor in their interest. Book your Morges test drive slot.
Microlino Test Drive in Renens
Renens sits right on the western edge of Lausanne and is one of the shortest trips to our meeting point — well under 15 minutes from most of the commune. If you live in Renens, Prilly, or nearby and are evaluating the Microlino as a second household vehicle or a commuter alternative, the test drive is convenient and the conversation practical. We can talk through typical Renens–Lausanne commute scenarios on the day.
Microlino Test Drive in Bussigny
Bussigny-près-Lausanne sits on the A1 corridor between Lausanne and Morges — a short and easy drive to our test site. The commune has a strong base of mixed commercial and residential activity, and several local businesses have enquired about the Microlino as a compact fleet vehicle for short-range deliveries and site visits. Contact us if you want to arrange a group or fleet demonstration in Bussigny.
Microlino Test Drive in Crissier
Crissier is just minutes from our meeting point — a quick hop along the A1 spur. If you live or work in Crissier and are curious about the Microlino for local errands, a school run, or a last-mile commute from the station, the test drive takes less time to organise than most decisions of this size. Book directly online — slots are available most weekdays and weekends.
Microlino Test Drive in Romanel-sur-Lausanne
Romanel-sur-Lausanne lies north of Lausanne city, around 15–20 minutes from our site. It is a residential commune with a strong daily commuter flow into Lausanne — precisely the pattern for which the Microlino Large Battery was designed. If your round trip to work is under 150 km, the Microlino handles it without any mid-day charging. Book your test drive from Romanel-sur-Lausanne.
Microlino Test Drive in Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne
Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne is in the northern suburbs of Lausanne and easily reached from our test site. Many households in Cheseaux run two cars — the Microlino is frequently considered as a lighter, cheaper, electric replacement for whichever of the two does shorter daily distances. We can walk through the numbers with you on the day, including charging costs versus fuel over a typical year.
Microlino Test Drive near Lucens
Lucens is in the Broye district of Vaud, roughly 35–45 minutes from our meeting point. Visitors from Lucens and the broader Broye area — Moudon, Payerne, Estavayer — are welcome and we are happy to time slots around your schedule. The Microlino suits smaller town centres well, where parking is limited and distances are short. Contact us to arrange your visit from Lucens.
Microlino Test Drive near Payerne
Payerne is about 45 minutes via Moudon. We regularly see interest from the Broye region — Vaud and Fribourg sides alike — from buyers who want to evaluate the Microlino for town errands and commutes to regional rail stations. Several owners in the Payerne–Avenches area use the vehicle for exactly this pattern. Book your slot or contact us to discuss travel from Payerne.
Microlino Test Drive from Fribourg
Fribourg is approximately 50–60 minutes from our test site via the A1 towards Bern. We welcome visitors from the city of Fribourg and the surrounding canton regularly. The Microlino is particularly appealing for Fribourg’s lower old town, where parking is heavily restricted and the streets are narrow. If you are coming from Fribourg, consider combining the test drive with a stop at the Vaud lakeside — it makes for a pleasant half-day trip. Book your Fribourg slot online.
Microlino Test Drive near Bulle
Bulle (Canton Fribourg, Gruyère region) is 45–55 minutes via the A12. Bulle is one of the fastest-growing towns in French-speaking Switzerland — urban density is rising, parking is increasingly competitive, and the Microlino’s value proposition strengthens accordingly. Contact us to arrange a visit from Bulle or the surrounding Gruyère communes.
Microlino Test Drive in the Gruyère Region
The Gruyère area — Bulle, Broc, Charmey, Châtel-Saint-Denis — is 45–60 minutes from our site. Several Microlino owners in Gruyère use it as a second vehicle for town errands and commutes into Bulle or Fribourg. The Large Battery model (228 km WLTP) covers the Gruyère–Fribourg–Lausanne route without mid-trip charging. Contact us if you are travelling from the Gruyère region and want to arrange a convenient time.
Microlino Test Drive — Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a car driving licence to test drive a Microlino?
For the standard L7e Microlino (90 km/h), a category B car licence is required. For the L6e version (limited to 45 km/h), an AM licence or equivalent is sufficient in Switzerland. We will confirm which version you are testing when you book.
Is the test drive free?
Yes — completely free and without obligation to purchase.
Where exactly is the test drive located?
The exact meeting point is confirmed after booking. We operate in the greater Lausanne / Lake Geneva area and can host visitors arriving from Lausanne, Renens, Bussigny, Crissier, Romanel-sur-Lausanne, Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne, Morges, Nyon, Vevey, Montreux, Payerne, Lucens, Fribourg, Bulle, and across the Gruyère region.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. The Microlino seats two, so you can bring one passenger for the ride. If you have more people who want a turn at the wheel, please mention this when booking so we can allow extra time.
How long does a session last?
Approximately 40 minutes including the drive and Q&A.
What languages is the session available in?
English and French — your choice.
Is the Microlino practical for commuting between Lausanne and Fribourg, or Lausanne and Vevey?
The Large Battery version (228 km WLTP) handles a Lausanne–Fribourg return (~130 km) on a single charge. The Lausanne–Vevey–Montreux return (~80 km) is comfortable even on the Standard battery (125 km WLTP). For daily commuters from Nyon, Morges, Renens, or Crissier into central Lausanne, even the Standard battery is more than adequate — those are 20–40 km return trips at most.
Does the Microlino cope with hilly terrain around Vevey, Montreux, or the Gruyère pre-Alps?
The Microlino is designed primarily for urban and peri-urban use. It handles moderate gradients on cantonal roads without difficulty. Steep mountain passes are not its natural terrain — range and performance are reduced at altitude and on sustained climbs. For flat-to-moderate routes around Lausanne, Morges, Nyon, Vevey, or the Broye valley, it performs exactly as advertised.
